The Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) role is critical for generating local socio-economic, cost-effectiveness, and clinical evidence to support patient access and reimbursement strategies. This position also involves staying informed on evolving European, national, and local access policies to navigate changing landscapes effectively. Furthermore, the HEOR Manager leads macroeconomic assessments and outcome research initiatives, showcasing the value of Novartis products in improving healthcare outcomes

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • Leading coordination of AT- EU PICO assessment exchange for joint clinical assessments within the EU HTA process by generating local health economic insights to ensure compliance and effective navigation of EU HTA regulation.
  • Drive Reimbursement discussions within new AT- HTA appraisal board process: Preparing product dossier and a compelling value proposition for reimbursement discussions and negotiating the economic value of Novartis products with authorities to enhance patient access.
  • Evidence Generation: Developing health economic strategies for focus and future brands, conducting macroeconomic outcome research, generate cost effectiveness , comparative clinical effectiveness, budget impact or socioeconomic evidence and supporting publication efforts to strengthen product value propositions.
  • Policy and Regulation: Staying abreast of evolving European and Austrian healthcare policies, assessing the implications of new regulations, and influencing industry narratives through health economic expertise.
  • External Engagement: Establishing and maintaining relationships with HTA agencies, medical societies, healthcare providers, and industry networks to shape the healthcare environment and represent Novartis at relevant events.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • University degree in a relevant field such as scientific disciplines, health economics, or business.
  • Fluency in both German and English is essential.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a related field, ideally within healthcare, health economics, or regulatory environments.
  • Profound knowledge of the Austrian healthcare system and its regulatory framework.
  • Strong analytical mindset paired with excellent project management skills to effectively handle complex processes.
  • A hands-on mentality with the ability to navigate and lead in dynamic environments.
  • Exceptional communication abilities and strong leadership skills to inspire teams and build valuable stakeholder relationships

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary. For this position the minimum salary is € 61.000/year (on a full time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
We are open for part-time and job sharing models and support flexible and remote working where possible.
